Focus on: Standards-Based Instruction
This lesson was designed as an introduction to unit 3: personality. We began with an overview of all the objectives to be covered in the unit and then went on to look at the first section of standards: PSYII.3.1- Describe components of psychoanalytic personality theory. Students used a handout that aligns to the PowerPoint to take notes during the presentation, after which they began their first activity of the personality unit. This activity, a “Quick Lab” was designed to help them begin to analyze their own personality and to prepare them for the cumulative project due at the end of the unit, their personality mask (see "Authentic Learning" page for more information on this project).
